Our Flagship Route is Mainline 464, which was
given a facelift and the Mainline branding in
November 1998. Since then, we have made many
improvements with additional new vehicles joining
the Mainline 464 fleet and increased service
frequencies, now offering a 'turn up and ride' service with a bus at frequent intervals throughout most ofthe daytime on weekdays.
Added to this is is our much more simple to understand
weekend operation with buses every 15 minutes throughout most of the day on Saturdays and half-hourly journeys on Sundays.
All buses operating Mainline 464
are
Easyride
low floor
buses. These
vehicles are
fully accessible
to wheelchair
users,
parents with prams and the elderly
with no steps to the
entrance,
a virtually flat floor for most of the bus and other
modern, high-tech equipment such as high visibility handrails
to aid the
partially sighted, along with
the latest style
seating.
All Mainline
464 vehicles
feature the use of CCTV equipment throughout, improving safety for all passengers travelling
with us.
The Route operates from Accrington to Rochdale passing
through the heart of the Rossendale Valley; through Haslingden, Rawtenstall,
Waterfoot, Bacup and Whitworth.
In recognition of our company's commitment to providing
this high quality service, Lancashire County Council and Rossendale Borough Council have joined in
partnership with us to provide new high quality bus shelters with seating and lighting and the best
quality travel information is being installed at these stops.
Kerb heights are being raised at the bus stops to provide
easy access to complement our the Easyride buses we are providing, and measures have been taken to
ensure that the buses can access the bus stops with parking restrictions and the provision of easily identifiable red
boxes to mark out the stops.
